There is something special about a product made in our community that will hold the moments that matter most: a wedding dress, a baby’s first keepsakes, handwritten letters, family photographs, or the small treasures that tell a family’s story over time. This is the idea behind the Momento Keepsake Trunk, handcrafted in Boyd, Wisconsin, by C&N Manufacturing, Inc. This Chippewa County-made product is competing in the 2026 Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest and needs your support to advance to the Top 16.
For nearly four decades, C&N Manufacturing has been building durable trunks in its Boyd shop. Through the Momento line, that experience is paired with personalized details and thoughtful design to create keepsake trunks for weddings, new babies, family milestones, and other memories worth preserving.
Each Momento Keepsake Trunk is made using primarily American-sourced materials and can be personalized to protect, organize, and display meaningful belongings in the home. As C&N puts it, some things are simply too important for a cardboard box. The Momento line combines skilled craftsmanship, durable materials, and purposeful design to create something that can become part of a family’s story for years to come.
The Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest is organized by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, with BMO as the presenting partner. The annual competition celebrates the ingenuity and impact of Wisconsin manufacturing and the products made by manufacturers across the state. For Chippewa County, Momento’s nomination is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the people and businesses creating high-quality products right here in our region.
This year’s contest features 108 nominees from throughout Wisconsin. The initial public voting round will determine which products advance to the Top 16. Those finalists will then compete in a bracket-style tournament known as “Manufacturing Madness,” with the overall winner announced October 27.
Voting is quick, and community participation can help C&N Manufacturing advance in the competition.
