Fast commutes, a locavore culture, affordable housing, and general costs of living that are below the national average allow our residents to enjoy the diversified lifestyle our area has to offer. Revitalized downtown areas provide a lot of local and international flavor, entertainment, and retail options.

Peruse the produce of our local fields and farms at our farmers markets, peppered throughout the Chippewa Valley each day of the week during growing season. Residents as well as several local restaurants enjoy the farm-to-table ideal our area is able to support.

Celebrations

There’s never a dull weekend in the Chippewa Valley as we celebrate our history, people, talent, seasons, food, and drink. Pure Water Days, Oktoberfest, and Bridge to Wonderland Parade, the Chippewa Falls Christmas Village, Spring Fest, and the Northern Wisconsin State Fair are among just a few of the dozens of our events.

Awards

The Chippewa Valley has garnered national attention over the years. In 2014, Eau Claire won the All-America City Award and the Bicycle Friendly Community Award in 2015. Fireball Run of Amazon Prime showcased the Chippewa Valley in their opening episodes of their 11th season, “Big Country.”

The Arts

The Chippewa Valley is known for it’s remarkable arts and culture scene. In Chippewa Falls, the Heyde Center for the Arts, housed in the historic 1907 McDonell Memorial High School building, offers up a full calendar of concerts, art shows, performances, and a venue to book for your own events. Pablo Center at the Confluence in downtown Eau Claire is the newest center to host concerts, performances and Broadway-style touring shows. The crown jewel of Menomonie is by far the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts is also a historic landmark and hub of cultural activity in the area.

Chippewa County has a wide array of hospitals and extensive healthcare services. Many of these facilities also serve Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley Area.
