We sincerely thank all of our CEDC investors who attended our first entrepreneur showcase in 2025; its success was truly remarkable. Special thanks to KYMA and their team for hosting us at their facility, allowing community leaders to discover the innovative manufacturing they bring to our community. We are fortunate to have them here.
The morning started with Momentum West and the Chippewa Valley’s Economic Development professionals gathering to collaborate and update each other on everyone’s projects and activities that raise and improve Western Wisconsin’s economy. Following the roundtable discussion, over forty community leaders enjoyed a complimentary taco bar lunch, after which they attended a KYMA company presentation by Frederik van Heerden.
Van Heerden presented a high-level overview of the energy landscape to the CEDC stakeholders and business leaders, covering its historical context and emerging challenges. He highlighted key trends in energy storage and how KYMA is positioning itself in the market. He also shared the factors behind considering Chippewa Falls for its operations. He emphasized KYMA’s appreciation for the community’s strong supply chain talent, including its manufacturing, welding, and assembly expertise. In addition to a market presentation, the KYMA team showcased their product, key components, and a live demo. While a full facility tour was not possible due to the security and sensitivity of KYMA’s manufacturing, the team provided a curated Q&A-style session, offering valuable insights and highlighting what could be shared at this stage of development.
The CEDC’s entrepreneur showcase aims to work with existing businesses to connect them with their community, better improve customer rapport, collaborate with other companies in our community, and enhance innovation within the local supply chain. These showcases also serve as a vehicle to educate job opportunities for the next generation within our community and give parents who attended a perspective of future job opportunities available in our community. Kyma is a startup company aiming to deliver scalable battery storage solutions powered by cutting-edge energy technologies, empowering industrial and commercial enterprises to achieve greater efficiency, sustainability, and energy independence.
The next CEDC showcase is on March 6th at VSA in Lake Hallie. If you are interested in participating, please get in touch with Brittany at
