Sarah Gordee (Director of Sales, Hookd Promotions) led another outstanding BEAR Lunch and Learn where over 20 Chippewa County business leaders gathered at Hangar 54 within the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to discuss emerging strategies utilized in attracting new employees.  The session also explored trends and statistics around the role that internet video use has on talent attraction and those potential employees searching for new opportunities. Gordee stressed, “companies need to constantly monitor and adjust their social media marketing and utilize optimization strategies effectively, if they’re going to have their company websites noticed by these new, savvy job seekers.”

Another important role CCEDC’s Business Expansion And Retention (BEAR) program plays is to gather businesses together to discuss the latest trends and issues that may hinder economic development growth in the area and to review current programs implemented that would help resolve these hindrances.  Hookd Promotions worked with the Chippewa Falls Chamber of Commerce and a consortium of businesses to produce a talent-attraction video This is Summer in the Northwoods that piggy-backed on a state-wide talent attraction initiative. The video provides an introduction to job opportunities and quality of life in the Chippewa Valley. “The BEAR lunch was an excellent opportunity to report out the results of the first phase of the digital marketing campaign which had over 6,000 views, 15,500 clicks to the landing page, and 2.2 millions impressions in 6 months,” noted Gordee.

In short, by partnering with existing companies that are already looking to recruit top talent to the Chippewa Valley the project created additional marketing collateral that would align with the campaign and provide all recruiting teams with beautiful, yet information resources reinforcing their own individual efforts. The program is definitely a success and is generating interest in developing phase II.  Contact Chippewa Falls Chamber of Commerce  to learn how you can participate in the program.
