COVID-19 Economic Loss Survey

To support our communities as well as the state of Wisconsin during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Center for Customized Research and Services, area chambers of commerce and economic development organizations are coming together with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to collect data and build solutions. CCEDC asks you to take this survey by April 6 which will be used to measure the economic loss and to assist in future recovery efforts, as this COVID-19 pandemic plays out across Wisconsin. We thank UW-Oshkosh Center for Customized Research & Services for their survey technology and staff support. Urgent Call for Manufacturers of Medical Equipment from Wisconsin

In fabric shops and on factory floors, the race is on to make and manufacture personal protective equipment (PPE) in the United States, including Wisconsin before supplies run out for those on the front lines of the coronavirus outbreak. Medical staff wear face shields over face masks while treating patients to protect against flying respiratory droplets that can transmit COVID-19, such as from coughs and sneezes but now more than ever protective equipment of all kinds has become hard to find. Healthcare workers have shared that face shields are especially critical because staff now wear them routinely during the race against the war of COVID-19. “Wisconsin’s Hemp Rebirth” Lunch & Learn Series

On March 4th 2020, Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation was proud to host another successful Lunch and Learn event at our sponsor, B&B Electric's, facility. The event discussion was led by Justin Kirking (Business and Cooperative Programs Specialist, USDA Rural Development). Justin spoke to attendees about "Wisconsin's Hemp Rebirth" and was focused on addressing the current challenges and future opportunities that exist through Rural Development Programs in order to assist in financing the processing and other value projects that could potentially be eligible under the Rural Development's financial programs and post-harvest eligible projects as well. CCEDC Hosts Regional Entrepreneurial Pitch Contest, HATCH

The Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) is paving the way for local entrepreneurs and assisting them in bringing their business ideas alive by organizing and hosting the Chippewa Valley HATCH Program. Fostering more Startup entrepreneurs makes sense because of the role they play in helping the Chippewa Valley grow and prosper. On 10/15/2019, the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) hosted the Chippewa Falls Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) board meeting and gave an update on CCEDC’s activities to date. After reviewing the history of CCEDC and its mission- President CEO Charlie Walker, discussed the improvements in CCEDC Business Attraction Program, the success of the Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR Program) and the organizations upcoming HATCH Program. Discussion also centered around home each organization can better support each other. “Collaboration is a necessary component of great economic development programs” stressed Walker "CCEDC is fortunate to have local organizations such as the Chippewa Falls IEDC as a supporter and partner."
