Missy Hughes, Secretary and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) visited Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) to receive an update on the organization’s Business Retention, Entrepreneurial Development and Workforce Strategies that are currently being deployed. Mayor Greg Hoffman of the City of Chippewa Falls updated Missy Hughes on the critical partnership that the City has with CCEDC. “One of the reasons our economic development program is successful is because we have built a great team that works together and always looks for ways to improve it,” stated Mayor Hoffman. Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) hosted a dozen business owners and company representatives this afternoon in Stanley, WI at Martino’s Restaurant. Attendees discussed the latest 2019 compensation trends for assisting them in their 2020 forecast and preparation for employee recruitment, retention and budgeting. This was the second series organized by CCEDC as part of their Business, Expansion and Retention Program (BEAR). A primary purpose of the BEAR lunch and learn series is to assist existing businesses by providing them with meaningful information to better compete in the new market place. CCEDC is excited to collaborate with IDC

On 10/15/2019, the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) hosted the Chippewa Falls Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) board meeting and gave an update on CCEDC’s activities to date. After reviewing the history of CCEDC and its mission- President CEO Charlie Walker, discussed the improvements in CCEDC Business Attraction Program, the success of the Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR Program) and the organizations upcoming HATCH Program. Discussion also centered around home each organization can better support each other. “Collaboration is a necessary component of great economic development programs” stressed Walker "CCEDC is fortunate to have local organizations such as the Chippewa Falls IEDC as a supporter and partner."
