Badger Bounce Back Plan to Restart Economy

Gov. Tony Evers announced Wisconsin's "Badger Bounce Back" plan which outlines important criteria for Wisconsin to be able to reopen its economy in phases and includes steps to make sure workers and businesses are prepared to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. “The Badger Bounce Back plan is informed in part by the President's Guidelines for Opening Up America Again that was issued by the White House on April 16, 2020. Currently, Wisconsin does not meet the criteria the White House established to start reopening our state. Jim McDougall from UpStream AV has recently been named a finalist among twenty-eight other entries representing sectors as broad as health technologies and innovations in products or services who are all competing in the 17th Annual Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest. VENTUREHOME-EAU CLAIRE ANNOUNCES FIRST COHORT

Exciting news is something we all need during these uncertain times and that is what VentureHome-Eau Claire, a new startup hub, announced this spring. This startup hub combines statewide resources with community initiatives to provide local entrepreneurs access to a full menu of startup resources in their community. They also serve as a landing spot for Wisconsin’s entrepreneurial “alumni” to “venture home” and contribute to their local communities. COVID-19 Economic Loss Survey

To support our communities as well as the state of Wisconsin during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Center for Customized Research and Services, area chambers of commerce and economic development organizations are coming together with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to collect data and build solutions. CCEDC asks you to take this survey by April 6 which will be used to measure the economic loss and to assist in future recovery efforts, as this COVID-19 pandemic plays out across Wisconsin. In fabric shops and on factory floors, the race is on to make and manufacture personal protective equipment (PPE) in the United States, including Wisconsin before supplies run out for those on the front lines of the coronavirus outbreak. Medical staff wear face shields over face masks while treating patients to protect against flying respiratory droplets that can transmit COVID-19, such as from coughs and sneezes but now more than ever protective equipment of all kinds has become hard to find. Healthcare workers have shared that face shields are especially critical because staff now wear them routinely during the race against the war of COVID-19. 2020 is starting out great for the BEAR Business Expansion and Retention Lunch & Learn Programs! CCEDC knows that the strong "engines" of our local economy are our existing businesses.
