Dave Armstrong of Barron County Economic Development (via zoom), Aaron White with the City of Eau Claire Economic Development, and Charles Walker with Chippewa Economic Development hosted a Momentum West panel discussion. The discussion focused on possible community based solutions in housing and their importance to Business Expansion and Retention as well as Site Selection in economic development. The panel also covered a a few of the Wisconsin Economic Development's Associations legislative priorities as they tied in with this important topic. Over one hundred stakeholders attended the Housing Solutions Forum held on campus at UW Stout. Great event.. that helps keep West Wisconsin Moving Forward Together!

Farm Technology Days Unwraps the Secret

Along with cookies and milk, this holiday season the local Wisconsin Farm Technology Days (WFTD) Committee continued their work alongside the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) in identifying the location for the 2024 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days show to be hosted in Chippewa County. Recently, they held a press conference at Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative's (CVEC) office in Cornell, WI to "unwrap" or reveal the host farm and the venue. The committee is proud to announce that it has chosen a date and location. Scheduled for August 13-15, 2024, at the Country/Rock Fest grounds in Cadott, Wisconsin (WI). Ethan Van Grunsven Wins Grand Prize at the 2022 CEDC’s HATCH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Chippewa Falls, WI – December 5, 2022 – Sconny Company, a Wisconsin Entrepreneur studying business at UW-Eau Claire, won the $5,000 at the 2022  and first place at the CEDC’s HATCH Business Pitch Competition. The Hatch event – a shark tank like business competition - held annually during Startup Chippewa Valley Week is aimed at encouraging Entrepreneurship and solidifying the region’s startup ecosystem. Ethan Van Grunsven, founder of the Sconny Company, an ambitious 19-year-old college student whose key objective is to offer chic, high-quality garments that represent Wisconsin without affiliations to universities or sports teams was chosen by a panel of five judges. Legislative “Speed Dating” Feedback Social Held

In partnership with the Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) and sponsored by Keller Builds, CEDC hosted the first of its kind legislative speed-dating type listening sessions with Chippewa Valley area legislators. Lona Cook of Cook Chiropractic, CEDC’s Advocacy Committee Chair, and Michael Welsh, Vice President of Legislative Affairs at WEDA, emceed the meeting, which was held at Main Street Cafe in Bloomer, WI. All area legislators were invited. Those that attended included Senator Kathy Bernier, Representative Dave Armstrong, Representative Jesse James, Representative Warren Petryk, and Representative Rob Summerfield. CVIC Board Holds Meeting at CVTC

The Chippewa Valley Innovation Center (CVIC) was established in 1986 by Eau Claire County, the City of Eau Claire, Chippewa County, Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corporation, Chippewa Economic Development Corporation, and Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) as a regional partnership for the purpose of supporting new and emerging entrepreneurial businesses in the Eau Claire area. During their 36 year history, the CVIC has successfully proven to be a productive tool in growing our region's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Their current facility, located on 3132 Louis Avenue in Eau Claire, specializes in assisting manufacturing startups. Showing Off Some STEAM

I was amazed: I didn’t need a ticket, and I attended a great event! The curtain went up at Chippewa Falls Senior High School (“Chi Hi”) and opened the STEAM production. It was alive with activity as hundreds of students circled the campus, taking the time to visit with a large array of Chippewa Valley businesses and educational institutions. This was STEAM Night, and it was about learning, it was about the opportunities of our area, and it was about “showing off” some STEAM Careers. So, what is STEAM, you ask?
