Economic Development Is A Continuing Journey of Independence

As fireworks light up the night sky and families gather for barbecues, the 4th of July stands as a powerful symbol of freedom and independence. The American colonies sought to break free from the mercantilist policies of the British Empire, which restricted their trade and stifled economic growth. The founders envisioned a nation where economic freedom would pave the way for prosperity and innovation. Economic development is crucial in maintaining and expanding the independence celebrated on the 4th of July. It involves improving [...]

Labor Day and Its Significance

Celebrating Labor Day: Honoring the Backbone of the Economy Every year, on the first Monday of September, people across the United States gather to celebrate Labor Day. For many, it marks the unofficial end of summer, a time for barbecues, parades, and relaxation. However, Labor Day carries a deeper significance that goes beyond the festivities. The Historical Roots The history of Labor Day dates back to the late 19th century when the labor movement was gaining momentum in the United States. The labor force was demanding better working conditions, fair wages, and reasonable working hours. One of the pivotal moments in this movement was the Haymarket Affair of 1886 in Chicago, which resulted in the [...]

Gov. Tony Evers announced Wisconsin's "Badger Bounce Back" plan which outlines important criteria for Wisconsin to be able to reopen its economy in phases and includes steps to make sure workers and businesses are prepared to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. “The Badger Bounce Back plan is informed in part by the President's Guidelines for Opening Up America Again that was issued by the White House on April 16, 2020. Currently, Wisconsin does not meet the criteria the White House established to start reopening our state. The Badger Bounce Back plan takes important steps to get the state of Wisconsin there,” according to a news release from the Governor’s office.
