Every October is recognized as Manufacturing Month, and this year, CEDC spotlighted innovation, collaboration, and opportunity within Wisconsin’s defense manufacturing sector. Through two key events — the Defense Manufacturing Supply Chain Conference (DMSCC) and the Collaborative Showcase at W.S. The Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) recently announced the four winners of its annual Community and Economic Development Awards (CEDA). The CEDA Awards were established by WEDA to recognize and celebrate businesses, projects, and organizations that are making significant contributions to Wisconsin’s economy. Winners were unveiled and celebrated at the 2022 CEDA Awards Ceremony, which was held on Sept. 29 as part of WEDA’s Fall Best Practices Conference in La Crosse, WI. IEDC Recognizes CEDC And Manufacturing SOS Alliance

The International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the largest nonprofit professional association for professional economic developers in the world, has selected the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) as a recipient of its 2022 Excellence Award for its collaborative effort in helping establish a non-profit organization called Manufacturing SOS (Supporting Our Schools) Alliance. This partnership between the industry and the non-profit group is aimed at creating an awareness of the increased need for skilled tradespeople and other manufacturing professionals by industry. CVIC Board Holds Meeting at CVTC

The Chippewa Valley Innovation Center (CVIC) was established in 1986 by Eau Claire County, the City of Eau Claire, Chippewa County, Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corporation, Chippewa Economic Development Corporation, and Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) as a regional partnership for the purpose of supporting new and emerging entrepreneurial businesses in the Eau Claire area. During their 36 year history, the CVIC has successfully proven to be a productive tool in growing our region's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Their current facility, located on 3132 Louis Avenue in Eau Claire, specializes in assisting manufacturing startups.
