A Feast of Curiosity — How STEAM Night Served Up the Future

When area students, families, regional manufacturers, and employers gathered for this year’s STEAM Night held on to the campus of Chippewa Falls High School, it felt less like a school event and more like a “community banquet of curiosity”. From robotics demonstrations to digital art displays, from coding challenges to physics-in-action experiments, tables across the commons and hallways buzzed with energy. STEAM NIGHT: Igniting Potential!

In today's rapidly evolving world, preparing students for the challenges of tomorrow requires a multifaceted approach to education. That's where S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs shine. Recently, Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) partnered with the Chippewa Falls Senior High School (Chi-Hi) to organize and host a remarkable event – S.T.E.A.M. Night! These CEDC STEM events are activities, conferences, workshops, or showcases focusing on science, technology, engineering,  and mathematics. $4000 in Scholarships Awarded to Chi Hi Students

Thanks to the many donations to the STEAM Scholarship Program at Chippewa Falls High School (Chi Hi), the school was able to award two students with $2000 scholarships to help continue their studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. These two seniors were chosen out of several applicants because of their dedication to both education and giving back to their communities. Zachary Secraw plans to attend the University of Minnesota-Duluth for Civil Engineering to "help out communities." Destiny Kolve plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, get a Bachelor's in Chemistry, and has an interest in "lab science and research based careers." Showing Off Some STEAM

I was amazed: I didn’t need a ticket, and I attended a great event! The curtain went up at Chippewa Falls Senior High School (“Chi Hi”) and opened the STEAM production. It was alive with activity as hundreds of students circled the campus, taking the time to visit with a large array of Chippewa Valley businesses and educational institutions.
