As these patriots apply many of the skills they obtained in the Armed Forces, they make valuable and lasting contributions to our robust business landscape. During National Veterans Small Business Week, we celebrate these hardworking men and women who defended our Nation in uniform and continue to strengthen it by starting businesses when they return to civilian life.
Join us at Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) as we celebrate veteran-owned businesses across the country from Monday, November 2nd thru Friday, November 6th!
Each year the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) celebrates, connects, and empowers service members, veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses during National Veterans Small Business Week (NVSBW). This year marks the seventh annual NVSBW and this year’s theme is #VetBiz Resources which highlights the breadth of free to low-cost entrepreneurial resources that veteran and military entrepreneurs can access right in our own community! Each day, the SBA will focus on a different aspect of veteran business ownership. Topics will include transition assistance, entrepreneurial training, government contracting, disaster assistance, and capital access.
SBA district offices, resource partners, and local organizations will host virtual educational webinars, training workshops, networking opportunities, social media events, and more. The SBA encourages veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses to join the online conversation and share their entrepreneurial stories and best practices, including the local resources they used to establish successful businesses, using the hashtag #VetBiz.
Through entrepreneurship and business ownership, these veterans continue their service by not only contributing to the economy, but also by creating economic opportunities for other Americans. The moments that matter for veteran entrepreneurs matter to us as well, and CCEDC is proud to celebrate, honor, and support them.
