CEDC’s Collaborative Showcase series brings together local businesses, industry leaders, and community advocates to foster meaningful connections and highlight innovation throughout the Chippewa Valley.
Each two-hour, onsite event—hosted by CEDC stakeholders across the region—offers participants a chance to tour local facilities, engage in cross-sector dialogue, and explore opportunities for partnership and growth. These showcases not only strengthen individual organizations but also contribute to the vitality of the broader regional economy.
Our most recent showcase took place at Hixwood Metals in Stanley, Wisconsin. Known for its high-quality post-frame building kits, metal roofing, and steel coil products, Hixwood has become a trusted supplier for contractors and builders across the Midwest and beyond. Their product offerings also include portable sheds, garages, and a wide array of custom building accessories—all delivered with a strong commitment to craftsmanship and customer service.
Hixwood was recently honored for the fourth time with Metal Roofing Magazine’s “Metal of Honor,” a distinction that speaks to the company’s consistent dedication to excellence and integrity in the industry.
The event sparked meaningful conversations among attendees, focusing on topics such as investing in team development to retain skilled employees, prioritizing safety across operations, and navigating market challenges such as tariffs—all while continuing to deliver customized, high-quality products. Hixwood’s emphasis on service reliability and product quality in a competitive industry stood out as a key strength and point of discussion.
Guests had the opportunity to tour the Hixwood facility and see the company’s operations in action. From steel coil processing and component fabrication to packaging and logistics, the tour showcased the company’s operational efficiency, attention to detail, and strong investment in both people and process. One highlight was seeing Hixwood’s customizable sheds up close—an impressive demonstration of how the company delivers flexible solutions while maintaining high standards at scale.
Reflecting on the event, CEDC Economic Development Specialist Casey Hedrington shared:
“Events like this bring together passionate people, practical ideas, and the kind of collaboration that strengthens both business and community. Hixwood Metals exemplifies what it means to grow locally while impacting the region.”
A sincere thank-you to Hixwood Metals for hosting this edition of the Collaborative Showcase—and to all who attended for contributing your energy, insight, and spirit of collaboration.
Together, we continue to build a stronger, more connected Chippewa Valley.
