Since 2016, the International Economic Development Council’s Economic Development Week has recognized the vital role that economic development organizations and professionals play in shaping thriving communities across the nation. At the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CEDC), we are proud to be part of this national celebration and to champion the Power of Partnerships—the collaborations that drive innovation, foster growth, and create lasting changes throughout the Chippewa Valley.
This year, Economic Development Week takes place May 12–16, 2025, offering an opportunity to spotlight the tireless efforts that build vibrant, inclusive, and resilient local economies. Throughout the week, CEDC will showcase the essential work we do to support small businesses, attract investment, and strengthen our region’s economic foundation. The week culminates with our Annual Meeting on May 16, 2025, the largest business networking event in the Chippewa Valley, held at The Crescent in Eau Claire. This event brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members to reflect on our progress, share insights, and recommit to a shared vision for the future. Following the meeting, participants can take part in the Charity Golf Outing at Whispering Pines Golf Course, supporting the Jayna Kelley Memorial Foundation.
Economic development is about more than numbers—it’s about people and the opportunities we create together. We are proud of milestones such as empowering entrepreneurs through award-winning mentorship, coaching, funding, and training programs that have helped dozens of startups launch and grow. CEDC has also helped secure over $20 million in investments for major infrastructure projects, including BEAD, a broadband expansion initiative enhancing regional connectivity, and RESTORE, a grant program addressing the manufacturing workforce shortage through innovative partnerships.
