Industry Diversity

Chippewa County’s vibrant business community nurtures entrepreneurial growth and attracts exciting new expansions, such as the new Fleet Farm Distribution Center. This cutting-edge, 1-million-square-foot facility creates over 300 full-time, skilled jobs, further strengthening the region’s robust economy.

Leveraging the pro-business environment, Fleet Farm, VES, and Waters Edge Cheese Curds all have constructed modern facilities in the Lake Wissota Business Park.

Supporting Growth and Workforce Excellence

The Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) has partnered with numerous companies on their expansion projects, including those at the Lake Wissota Business Park. As CEDC President Charlie Walker stated, “Xcel Energy’s certification of the Lake Wissota Business Park as shovel-ready demonstrated to these companies that aggressive timelines could be met. Combined with the Chippewa Valley’s highly skilled workforce, the decision to expand in Chippewa Falls became an obvious one.”

In addition to these expansions, Chippewa County is home to a diverse array of thriving businesses, including Spectrum Industries, PMI, ITW Deltar, Great Northern Corp., Bloomer Machine, Charter Next Generation, and Ashley Furniture. These companies, along with many others, rely on the region’s pool of over 80,000 talented workers. Supporting and enhancing this workforce are exceptional educational institutions such as Chippewa Valley Technical College, which offers tailored training programs designed to meet the specific workforce needs of local businesses.
