FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Eau Claire, Wisconsin 5/9/23)- The 2nd Annual Regional Open Air Job Fair will again take place, weather permitting, between 10AM to 2PM on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport parking lot. In recognition of Economic Development Week, economic development stakeholders have worked with many of the region’s employers in all sectors to provide and organize a one-stop opportunity for those looking to explore careers, learn more about companies, fine tune their networking skills, or find a great paying job.

As the Chippewa Valley economy rapidly expands, many local businesses in all industrial sectors are looking for employees. With summer approaching, this is the perfect opportunity for job seekers to land a job at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport parking lot.

Dan Kitchen of Workforce Resource state, “The region’s ‘talent experts’ are collaborating with local businesses to connect them to the workforce. The parking lot of the Chippewa Valley Airport is the perfect location to have this event because of its centrality in the Chippewa Valley, along with access to public transportation and an abundance of open space and free parking. We are excited to partner with businesses, the community, and the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation on this effort.”

In the event of weather cancellation, information will be provided at www.chippewa-wi.com and on the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation Facebook page. The Open Air Job Fair is organized in partnership with a variety of community organizations. The Chippewa Falls Economic Development Corporation [CCEDC], Workforce Resource, Inc., Chippewa Falls Chamber, Department of Workforce Development, Momentum West and the West Central WI Workforce Development Board have partnered to assist workers in landing a job with employers.

“May 9th falls within National Economic Development Week, a week that recognizes the importance of job creation and retention. Many of CEDC’s business partners are looking forward to summer and promoting the many opportunities that will be showcased at this year’s event along with further investigating high-quality local talent.” expressed CEDC’s CEO Charlie Walker.

“Right now, there are literally hundreds of current job openings in the Chippewa Valley, many in manufacturing.” Stressed Nick Ford of UW-STOUT’s Manufacturing Outreach Center. It is encouraged that job seekers prepare for this opportunity by freshening up resumes, practicing interviewing skills, and planning to dress for success.
