Join the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CEDC)\, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC)\, UW-Stout Manufacturing Outreach Center (MOC)\, Momentum West\, and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for an interactive discussion\, Q&A session\, networking\, and breakfast. \nNicola Michels\, the Senior Manager and Consultant at WEDC’s Trade Representative in Germany\, is joining us to meet with Wisconsin businesses\, answer questions\, and discuss market opportunities in Europe (excluding the UK\, France\, Ireland\, and the Benelux countries)\, with an emphasis on southern Germany and Austria. \nWEDC is planning a trade venture to that region with stops in Munich\, Germany and Linz and Vienna\, Austria\, May 14-21\, 2022.  These locations offer great opportunities for Wisconsin exporters of industrial machinery\, IIOT and automation\, IT\, biotech\, and food and beverage products as well as production and packaging equipment among other products. \nWhile Nicola has lived and worked in the United States in the past\, this will be her first visit to Wisconsin.  She will be making stops in multiple communities so that she can get a better feeling of Wisconsin and the variety of companies in the state.  Any Wisconsin business interested scheduling a one-on-one meeting to discuss specific market issues can contact Stanley Pfrang\, stanley.pfrang@wedc.org\, (608) 210-6777. \n \nNicola Michels\, Senior Manager & Consultant\nNicola is a seasoned economic development professional with over 20 years of experience spanning three continents. She started out her career in South Africa as a Trade Association Executive in Cape Town representing 750 German\, Austrian and Swiss companies as well as the Leipzig Trade Show in Sub-Saharan Africa. Nicola then spent 15 years in the United States working for the German American Chamber of Commerce in New York City.  In her last role she was Vice President. After moving back to Germany in 2016\, Nicola Michels worked independently with The Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and served as European Representative of the State of New Jersey. Before joining AHP International as Senior Manager & Consultant she collaborated with AHPI on numerous projects such as the German Government Market Entry Program (MEP) for German SMEs exploring new markets abroad. \nAt AHPI she coordinates a team that conducts Market Assessments\, Partner Searches\, and Meeting Facilitation services for Wisconsin firms seeking to expand their export sales in Germany\, the Nordic countries\, and Central and Southern Europe. \nNicola studied in Germany and the U.K. and holds a Master’s degree in Communication Science. She is a dual German American citizen and fluent in German and English\, speaks French and basic Spanish.
