Exciting things are happening at the Eau Claire and Chippewa County Line! Discussions are being had about the Development of Hwy T near where it meets Hwy 29. Four alternative plans were given to the committee and public to decide which one would make the most effective, efficient, and leave the least amount of disruption to local home and landowners. Expanding lanes, adding round abouts, service roads, and cul de sacs were all topics during the February 7th meeting held at 29 Pines & Lodge. Members of the community sat in discussion with a debrief of the plan that has been chosen, a timeline to expect the completion, and talks of grants to make the funding happen. CEDC Hosts Local Developer Summit

Recently, the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) hosted a Developers Update Summit, where we invited state and regional developers to familiarize themselves with the many opportunities that Chippewa County has to offer. The event also provided a sneak peek to CEDC investors regarding current industrial, commercial, and residential developments that are in-progress or soon to be announced. Xcel Energy’s Certified Shovel-Ready Program Pays Off for Chippewa Falls

German-based global logistics company, DHL Real Estate Solutions, broke ground to construct a $6.8M, 124,000-square-foot warehouse facility project within the Lake Wissota Business Park (LWBP). Xcel Energy launched their multi-state, certified shovel-ready program a year ago and now has 36 certified shovel-ready sites throughout their service territory. The Lake Wissota Business Park in Chippewa County, is a one of six certified shovel-ready Xcel sites in Wisconsin. The certificated shovel-ready program helps to expedite the business location process by making sites like LWBP more attractive to companies like DHL, and other site-selection consultants looking to expand their businesses.
