TTM Technologies Hosts Chippewa Falls Girl Scout Troop 3345 & 3101 for Manufacturing Month

Every October - Manufacturing Month - Manufacturers across Wisconsin, the Chippewa Valley and next door utilize the month as an opportunity to inspire and recruit the next generation of manufacturers. With a continued goal of providing our future workforce with exposure to real STEM workplaces, the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) has organized, hosted, or arranged over 50 tours to 20 different Chippewa Valley manufacturing sites. Xcel Energy’s Certified Shovel-Ready Program Pays Off for Chippewa Falls

German-based global logistics company, DHL Real Estate Solutions, broke ground to construct a $6.8M, 124,000-square-foot warehouse facility project within the Lake Wissota Business Park (LWBP). Xcel Energy launched their multi-state, certified shovel-ready program a year ago and now has 36 certified shovel-ready sites throughout their service territory. The Lake Wissota Business Park in Chippewa County, is a one of six certified shovel-ready Xcel sites in Wisconsin. The certificated shovel-ready program helps to expedite the business location process by making sites like LWBP more attractive to companies like DHL, and other site-selection consultants looking to expand their businesses. CCEDC is excited to collaborate with IDC

On 10/15/2019, the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) hosted the Chippewa Falls Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) board meeting and gave an update on CCEDC’s activities to date. After reviewing the history of CCEDC and its mission- President CEO Charlie Walker, discussed the improvements in CCEDC Business Attraction Program, the success of the Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR Program) and the organizations upcoming HATCH Program. Discussion also centered around home each organization can better support each other. “Collaboration is a necessary component of great economic development programs” stressed Walker "CCEDC is fortunate to have local organizations such as the Chippewa Falls IEDC as a supporter and partner."

A1 Excavating A-1 Excavating was started in the mid-1970s by Archie Pecha and a business partner. His sons, Terry and Todd Pecha began working for the company in the mid-1980s. As an example of growth within the organization, the company had 12 employees in 1982 and has about 200 employees today. Even with the continuous growth of the company, it remains a family-owned and Bloomer-based business to this day. Chippewa Valley Youth Apprenticeship Consortium The Chippewa Valley Youth Apprenticeship Consortium is a partnership among area employers, high schools, and the Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA 10). Working constructively and collaboratively with federal, state, regional, and university stakeholders, the CCEDC is charged with developing a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) strategy for Chippewa County that focuses on expanding our local trading relationships, promoting expansion projects, and assisting with identifying potential supply chain relationships.
