Open Air Job Fair May 13, 2021 3pm til 5pm

2021’s first regional free open air job fair will take place, weather permitting, between 3 to 5 pm on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport parking lot. There will be over 30 companies there. In the event of weather cancellation, information will be provided at and on the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation Facebook page. The Open Air Job Fair is organized in partnership with a variety of community organizations to celebrate National Economic Week 2021. Nestlé announces Chippewa Valley Expansion

Chippewa Valley, Wisconsin (December 7th, 2020)-Nestlé announced that it is investing $50 million to expand and modernize their Nestlé Health Science manufacturing site. Located in Eau Claire Wisconsin, the expansion will add another 70 new jobs to the Chippewa Valley area. According to a company press release, the new production lines are expected to be operational in early 2022. “This major investment will make the Eau Claire facility Nestlé’s largest Health Science manufacturing site,” Jean-Denis Fournier, vice president of technical and production for Nestlé Health Science USA, said. The Eau Claire facility and division of Nestlé creates nutrition products used by health care institutions, patients, and consumers. Every October - Manufacturing Month - Manufacturers across Wisconsin, the Chippewa Valley and next door utilize the month as an opportunity to inspire and recruit the next generation of manufacturers. Xcel Energy’s Certified Shovel-Ready Program Pays Off for Chippewa Falls

German-based global logistics company, DHL Real Estate Solutions, broke ground to construct a $6.8M, 124,000-square-foot warehouse facility project within the Lake Wissota Business Park (LWBP). Xcel Energy launched their multi-state, certified shovel-ready program a year ago and now has 36 certified shovel-ready sites throughout their service territory. The Lake Wissota Business Park in Chippewa County, is a one of six certified shovel-ready Xcel sites in Wisconsin. The certificated shovel-ready program helps to expedite the business location process by making sites like LWBP more attractive to companies like DHL, and other site-selection consultants looking to expand their businesses. On 10/15/2019, the Chippewa Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) hosted the Chippewa Falls Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) board meeting and gave an update on CCEDC’s activities to date. After reviewing the history of CCEDC and its mission- President CEO Charlie Walker, discussed the improvements in CCEDC Business Attraction Program, the success of the Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR Program) and the organizations upcoming HATCH Program. Discussion also centered around home each organization can better support each other. “Collaboration is a necessary component of great economic development programs” stressed Walker "CCEDC is fortunate to have local organizations such as the Chippewa Falls IEDC as a supporter and partner."

A1 Excavating A-1 Excavating was started in the mid-1970s by Archie Pecha and a business partner. His sons, Terry and Todd Pecha began working for the company in the mid-1980s. As an example of growth within the organization, the company had 12 employees in 1982 and has about 200 employees today. Even with the continuous growth of the company, it remains a family-owned and Bloomer-based business to this day. Chippewa Valley Youth Apprenticeship Consortium The Chippewa Valley Youth Apprenticeship Consortium is a partnership among area employers, high schools, and the Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA 10).
