In 2007 CCEDC recognized the need for project-ready properties within Chippewa County and established the “Sites That Are Ready (STAR)” program. Being ready means that CCEDC has gathered a portfolio of sites that are fully described before purchase, making it easy for the business to determine what parcels they will have to purchase in order to fulfill their current and future needs for development. These gathered sites in Chippewa County are called STAR sites and are industrial and business sites CCEDC has deemed as ready for development.
The Chippewa County STAR sites provide the customer with assurance that these locations are suitable and ready for development— reducing some risk and shortening development schedules. A continuum of the STAR sites development process is the CERTIFIED SHOVEL READY SITE.*
